Effective with products delivered on or after April 1, 1991

HHG Contract name means quality. We are proud of our tradition for quality, proud enough to give you this Five-Year Limited Warranty on any piece in HHG Contract furniture line. Not that you’ll need it. We build better furniture because your business deserves it. And we stand behind what we sell.

What our five year limited warranty means

This Warranty is our promise to the original purchaser that , for a period of five (5) years from the date of delivery, each piece of HHG Contract furniture will be free from manufacturing defects in materials, workmanship or construction. If any defect does appear within the five-year Warranty period, HHG Contract will take the steps described below to correct it.

Who is covered
This Limited Warranty protects only the original purchaser and applies only when you purchase HHG Contract furniture for normal commercial use and not for household use.

Implied Warranties
NO IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, EXTEND BEYOND THE FIVE-YEAR TERM OF THIS WARRANTY.

Consequential or incidental damages
WE EXCLUDE AND WILL NOT PAY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES UNDER THIS WARRANTY. By this we mean any loss, expense, or damage other than to the furniture itself that may result from a defect in the furniture. The remedies provided under this Warranty state the limit of HHG Contract’s responsibilities.

What HHG Contract will do
We will remedy a manufacturing defect in any of your HHG Contract furniture as long a you send a notice of the defect within the five-year Warranty period (measured from the date of delivery). If you do notice a defect, it is important for you to act promptly and notify the authorized HHG Contract dealer from whom you purchased your furniture or call HHG Contract directly [collect] at (336) 472-4000 and ask for Customer Service.

When you notify HHG Contract or the authorized HHG Contract dealer of the defect in your HHG Contract furniture, please provide us with reasonable proof of the date of purchase. After notification, it may be necessary for HHG Contract or the authorized HHG Contract dealer to arrange for an inspection of your furniture to determine whether or not a defect exits. If a defect does exist, it will be repaired. If HHG Contract determines that repair is not practicable, you will be supplied with a new piece of HHG Contract furniture, if available, of the same or similar color, design, style and quality. If identical materials are not available at the time of repair or replacement, HHG Contract reserves the right to substitute materials of equal quality. You will not be charged for any repair services or for the new replacement furniture. If you paid transportation or shipping charges for the original delivery of your HHG Contract furniture, you will not be charged for transportation of warranted furniture to and from the designated HHG Contract manufacturing facility. The repair or replacement of HHG Contract furniture does not extend the duration of the Warranty period nor begin a new Warranty period. In the alternative, HHG Contract will you a refund if we cannot repair the defect after a reasonable number of tries. In case of a refund, a deduction will be made for the number of years of use taken as a percentage of the Warranty period and applied against your purchase price.

Limitations on the coverage of our five year warranty

While we believe our Limited Warranty is a good one, there are some limits to it. Any of the following things reduce our responsibility under this Warranty:

Original Purchaser
This Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of HHG Contract furniture. By “original purchaser” we mean the first purchaser who takes retail delivery of the furniture for placement and use in a commercial business location.

Improper Care and Use
Your HHG Contract furniture requires some routine maintenance. Please take care to treat your furniture like the fine product it is. Keep the furniture clean, dusted and polished as you would any piece of fine furniture. This will prolong its life and help preserve its beauty. Proper care and use are also essential to preserving your rights under this Warranty. We will not repair or replace your furniture if damage is caused by improper use, by improper maintenance or by improper cleaning. This Warranty does not apply if product damage results from the use of detergents, cleansers, abrasives or other harsh cleaning agents on the furniture.

Accidents, Abuse and Normal Wear and Tear
This Warranty does not apply if an inspection by HHG Contract or an authorized HHG Contract dealer reveals that product damage results from abuse, normal wear and tear, or accidents, including without limitation burns, cuts, tears, scratches, scuffs, stains and indentations.

Differences from Floor Samples and Literature
Because of the craftsmanship involved in each piece of HHG Contract furniture, minor variations can occur from piece to piece. Therefore, this Warranty does not cover such minor differences or differences between floor samples or printed illustrations and your furniture.

Freight damage
This Warranty does not cover damage cause by common carrier.

Upholstery Exclusion
Since the manufacturers of upholstery fabrics do no guarantee their products for wearing quality, colorfastness, fabric shrinkage, wrinkling or stretching, HHG Contract cannot extend a warranty against these problems to you. We do warrant our leather against cracking, tackiness, loss of flexibility, peeling and abrasion, so long as it is not the result of accidents, abuse, improper cleaning or normal wear and tear. Foam is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one (1) year.

This Five-Year Limited Warranty becomes effective with HHG Contract furniture delivered on or after April 1, 1991.

How to make a claim

If you think there is a defect in any of your HHG Contract furniture and you want to make a claim under this Warranty, you must either notify the authorized HHG Contract dealer who sold you your furniture or notify HHG Contract directly. Please provide the address where the furniture is located and proof of date of purchase. Please describe the problem you are having with your HHG Contract furniture as fully and clearly as possible. HHG Contract or the authorized HHG Contract dealer will arrange for an inspection of your furniture and, if necessary, for the return of the furniture for repair or replacement. After receiving notice of a defect or fault in a HHG Contract furniture product, HHG Contract will require a reasonable period of time in which to make the necessary adjustments.

Any transportation, shipping, insurance or other costs involved in delivering warranted furniture to HHG Contract pursuant to the above procedure is covered by this Warranty if you paid transportation or shipping charges for the original deliver of the furniture.
